How much would you pay to be an intern for your favorite designer? I mean you could basically say, you’re paying your ticket into the fashion industry. Someone paid $42,500 to be the intern to Anna Wintour back in 2010. Just think of your life like Andy in the world of Miranda Priestly! It would kind of be similar to “The Devil Wears Prada.” Take a sip on this tea.
I may not have $42,000 to put up to be an intern, but I would not hesitate if the opportunity was given to be the intern of Kimora Lee Simmons. The auction bids are through the site charitybuzz.com, the unpaid work placements will offer the winning bidder experience in the sales, press, merchandising or PR departments of the fashion houses. The bids are open to students aged 18 and over, who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university course. All proceeds will go to New York based charity Rosie’s Theatre Kids, which aims to improve the lives of children through arts education.
So far bids are valued at $10,000, each and with seven days left, the bid for the Balenciaga internship currently stands at $1,350; Oscar de la Renta at $1,000; and the Valentino and M Missoni internships yet to receive a bid.
Can you see yourself in this picture? Aiding Oscar de la Renta!? I must say that is a big bonus on a resume if you have the money! *shrug*
